First of all, you are using a medium distance and a somewhat high angle. A good portion of the surrounding environment is visible. We can see that we are in somebody's yard...the statue's face is the main focus though. She stands there peering at us looking a bit shy. Perhaps she wants to escape or not be seen by the public. Obviously standing on your property she receives ample oportunity for public display. The black and white background only contributes to her sense of anguish and the cool/calm fall afternoon.

In this photo your focus if first drawn to the statue. the medium shot offers detail in the statue's facial expression and position, but also the nature and surroundings.
The bare trees in the backround combined with the huddled postiton of the statue give off a feel of lonliness and cold. if you look closer to the backround you see a gate trailing off on the right which gives me a sense of confinment as well.
once again, what our eyes are drawn to, is mainly the statue because that is really the only thing in focus.

I really like this picture, because even though the majority of the picture contains scenery and environment, my eye was immediatly drawn to the statue. I think the statue catches the observers attention because of the focus. Only the statue is completly clear, while the tree fence and scenery are fuzzy. It really works! Good picture!

Eve. This picture is really good. In this photo, I'm drawn to the statue because you did such a good job of using a slightly high angle and the use of a medium distance to help capture the statue. You did a really good job of using focus on the statue and having the background blurred. Amazing picture. I really think it captures a sense of lonliness but at the same time it gives you a sense of calm.

This is a high angled shot with medium distance. The high angle gives us a sense of power in looking down upon a freezing cold elderly woman, who is actually made of stone. The viewer feels a need to wrap her up in a wool blanket, except they contemplate that idea upon realizing she's not a real woman, but a statue. The medium shot allows us to see the main focus of the photo in addition to a blurred background of a park, but the rack focus diminues the importance of the backround. There is a fence, probably preventing little children from falling over a ledge and also creating a leading line towards the statue. This park is probably soewhere kids play, or a fence wouldnt be needed and perhaps the statue is a memorial for someone that has been lost. Someone who had a connection to this park. Maybe i'm starting to make assumptions... anyways, this picture is really good!

i love your picture! when i first look at your picture i notice that there is statue that immeditly catches my eye, when i first looked at it i wondered why its face we turned away from us making me stop and look at the picture longer then i would have otherwise, i also noticed that the statue is much more promenent because the backround looks a little bit faded or fuzzy, when i look at the picture i notice that we are at a somewhat straight angle maybe a little above because i get the feeling that i am looking a little over the statue as if to see whats beyond it, or i'm walking by the statue, it really makes me feel like i am there looking at it! good job!!!!

This is a picture of a statue of a young boy in a park. The picture is unique because the only thing in focus is the statue and it is not in the middle of the picture. It is down at the bottom and to the right. It seems like the statue is walking out of the picture. The picture was taken on a flat angle. The picture seems to have been taken form a diagonal because the ground we can see is all tilted down in the right corner. Because the background seems tilted and the statue does not and also because the status is in focus and the rest of the picture is not it seems that the statue is not really part of the picture.
